Articles
On this page I will be adding links to articles that deal mainly with numismatics, specifically fourth century; however there are also a few other topics. I will eventually add all the articles that I have, if you have some scholarly on-topic articles in PDF format and would like to help, email me . Please note that some of these articles are old and may be dated as scholarship always moves forward. A good example of this is Hill's "Barbarous Imitations of Fourth-Century Roman Coins" in which he wrote that these coins were struck in the 5th century. A few years later hoard evidence demonstrated that these coins were contemporary with official coinage and Hill revised his thesis on these coins. I believe it is important to read these earlier works though, so that one may participate in the historical debate. If you enjoyed the articles, please visit my forum for Late Roman Bronze Coins.
